Industry expertise

Only those who understand the special features of an industry can develop individual and holistic financing solutions for demanding customers. IKB has bundled its industry expertise in specialized teams. Our industry specialists work closely with local client advisors and product experts and regularly publish articles on current industry topics on our corporate blog.

Our experience is based - in addition to the personal experience of the team members - on many years of cooperation with the German SME industry. In addition, our sector experts are closely networked in their industries through associations, events and specialist committees.

We develop individual solutions, advise our clients on their sustainable transformation and ensure high-quality support for our clients from project initiation to successful transaction completion, and are available for each project with a dedicated team.

Consumer, Retail, Logistics & TMT

Because of our long-standing client relationships and industry experience, our Consumer, Retail, Logistics & TMT sector team has a detailed understanding of the dynamics in the consumer food and consumer non-food sectors as well as in retail, including e-commerce. Logistics, timber industry, paper & packaging and TMT round off the sector spectrum.

Our medium-sized clients are facing increasing consolidation in an international competitive environment and continuously changing consumer needs, among other things. The digitalization of the entire value chain with the growing importance of e-commerce presents companies with challenges, as does the issue of sustainability. At the same time, these challenges offer growth and earnings potential that must be exploited.

In detail, the spectrum of opportunities and challenges of different business models is as broad as the industry spectrum of Consumer, Retail, Logistics & TMT itself. We support our clients with all financial strategy issues, in particular financing and capital markets transactions, and advise on all issues relating to sustainability.

Energy, Utilities & Resources

Our customers include energy supply companies, regional utilities, municipal utilities, project developers, plant manufacturers, suppliers and financial investors. We are well wired in the industry and support our customers along the entire value chain: generation, grids, storage, trading and sales. In addition to energy, the topics of disposal, recycling and raw materials form the interface to our industrial customers.

We support investments in the energy transition and climate protection with credit and capital market products as well as advice on subsidies.

We have been supporting our customers for many years in the structuring, arranging and financing of large-volume projects in combined heat and power (CHP) and other power plant projects. Our clients also include many companies in energy-intensive industries, e.g. from the iron, steel & aluminum, chemicals & pharmaceuticals and paper, pulp & packaging sectors.

In the renewable energy sector, we finance and advise project developers and investors, plant manufacturers and suppliers.

We are also available to our clients as a competent partner at eye level for future challenges and support our clients in all financial strategy issues, in particular financing and capital markets transactions, and advise on all sustainability-related topics.

Industrials, Mobility & Construction

Our understanding of the markets and companies results from the professional experience of our team members and the Bank's long-standing business relationships. Our sector team focuses on Automotive, Capital Goods & Components, Metals, Industrial & Business Services, Construction Materials and Chemicals.

Disruption is currently particularly high in these markets: the switch to electromobility, the transformation of energy-intensive industries and the challenges in terms of innovation and sustainability are driving our industry segments. We support our clients with financial strategy issues, in particular financing and capital markets transactions, and advise on all sustainability-related topics.
